This ceramic brand, Blue Iceland Design, founded in 2016 has bags of heritage of professional experience in art, design and handmade craft of the founder. Being a ceramics artist for over 2 decades, Helga’s idea to share vast knowledge and a true passion for hand made art resulted in taking up a teaching adventure with the Technical College of Hafnarfjordur, in Iceland where she influences the perception of art and design new generations of Helga’s kind of artist.
Being nationally and internationally appreciated for her talent to cultivate tradition with a modern twist and organic sourcing, Helga’s solo and joint exhibitions have been enthusiastically received by the public. Some of the artwork can be found in Reykjavik Art Museum, The Icelandic Ministry of Justice, and Mosfellsbær town. 

 

From the very beginning Helga’s cultivation of the pure love for surrounding nature has been consistently present in her art pieces The forms she uses and the colour combinations represent the vigorous energy and the diversity of this Nordic island.
